Process
For all four witches, the expression sheets and full illustration went through similar processes, starting with research, sketching, colors, rendering, and background.
Expression Sheets
Sketches
From rough sketches to the finished product, the expression sheets assisted me in solidifying their personality.
I first start off with a rough sketch, quickly sketching some expressions and picking out 5 that shows each one personality.
Clean up & Render
Now that I am satisfied with my sketches, I then go back in and make some minor adjustments, such as the pose, rescaling, and anatomy correction. I then refined my lines, added a background, and added simple rendering. As I was working on the colors, I decided to add a singular color that represent each crystal.

The full illustration shows a fully rendered art of each of these individual witches!
Sketch
In this sketch phase, I tried to do a couple of thumbnails sketches for each one. By using the expression sheets as a foundation, I was able to find poses that fit their personality!
